Here’s a simple way to raise draw weight on any bow in a few seconds. Just tie the string down. Adjust the tie point for desired draw weight.

Nocks cut into the back of a limb endanger the bow, unless tip wood is extra thick, in which case extra tip mass is involved.

For this reason or that, sometimes you’d like to have a lighter or heavier bow. So file a sliver of bone, wood, antler or horn to triple stair-step shape, sinew that to the back of each limb tip, and you have, for example, a 45 lb, 50 lb and 55 lb bow, or thereabouts. The bow should be designed for the shorter, heavier weight.
